New season is just around the corner, and here is another of our seasonal post of what I think is good to watch for this Winter season. Same as the previous season’s post, at the end of every opinion there will be rating to let you guys know my interest in each anime. This season looks a lot more promising that the previous season. The genre looks a lot more balanced, and there is actually less ecchi this time, which is good. There is a bunch of comedy, slice of life, and action shows to look forward as well. So without further ado, lets get down to it.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! – Looks like a fun anime to watch, if you are into fantasy and adventure. Base on the promo video, it looks to me like it’s going to be a mix of comedy, magic and a little bit of romance probably. While the girl are not really that appealing, the plot doesn’t really interest me that much either. Like one of those cliche anime with recycled formula. The anime sorta reminds me of SAO a bit, and that blue haired girl reminds me of Shinon at times. Just seeing the promo video, you’ll know that the anime doesn’t have much of a high budget to animate it. Animation looks good at times, but sometimes the quality just drops significantly. If you’re gonna watch this, watch it for the adventure I guess. I’m skipping this one. 6/10

Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm

Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm – If you’re into harems, this is definitely the anime for you. The animation looks great, and the cast looks promising too. Animation is done by Gonzo, and I think they have done a decent job and animating most of the anime that I’ve watched. The time is set in modern times, where humans can fly. The anime plot revolves around flying as well. The character design looks good as well. I’m not sure if I’m going to watch this, but if there is a shortage of anime to watch, i’ll definitely try this. 7/10

snowhite

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime 2nd Season –  I really enjoyed the first season of Akagami, and I’m definitely watching this one. It’s mostly about a normal girl who tries to find her place in a royal family. It’s somehow like Snow White in the basic level, but totally different entirely. I like how the anime is pretty realistic in most ways, and how the main character handles her problems. I also liked how most of the side characters are pretty friendly, and supports her in anyway possible. The romance is pretty nice, a the drama isn’t dragged out, just the way I like it. The setting is pretty historic, around the medieval era, and the animation is pretty consistent and pretty looking, as expect from Bones. Give this a try if you’re into shoujo and some love stories, you’ll love it. 9/10

saijaku-898x525

Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut – Another harem anime, but that’s just it for this season. There is only 2 of them, and this one has some ecchi in it. I heard this is more heavily focused on harems, so if you’re into those sort of anime, you’ll definitely wanna watch this one. Character design looks good, the animation looks pretty nice too. Hopefully the CGI won’t be overboard. There seems to be mecha in this one too. I think there will be a fair amount of action, but the main focus is of course the guy and those 5 girls. Expect a lot of fanservice, an a lot of ‘plot’.  Not sure if I’m watching this one, but if I want some harem, I think this would be the one I’ll try first. 7/10

Schwarzesmarken

Schwarzesmarken – If you’re into Muv Luv, you should give this anime a try. This anime is heavily on the mecha and drama. Don’t forget some fanservice as well, with all those mecha suits. Expect a bunch of people dying and what not. It’s also base on the light novel, as well as the visual novel. Animation looks good, and the song isn’t bad either. If you’re short of mecha anime, maybe you should give this anime a try as well. I’m passing this one, i’m not really much of a mecha fan. 7/10

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar – Another fantasy anime. I’m actually interested in this one, because of the animation style. Most of the background seems like painting/water colored style, and it will be interesting to see how it will actually work. A-1 Pictures are doing this, so the animation is going to be fine. Looks like another SAO, but hopefully it’s unique and different from the others. I heard the light novel was good, so I’ll give this anime a try. 8/10

Lady_OtomenNijiiroDays-Ch1(1)

Nijiiro Days – I’m really looking forward for this show. Firstly it’s not yaoi. I’m not really sure why they have to just show the guys, but they should also include the girls. It’s basically a slice of life anime with shoujo and comedy mixed in. Base on the promo video, it looks really promising and fun to watch. I have high hopes for this one. The show is kinda lengthy too, 26 episodes long, or so i’ve heard. Character looks likeable and that girl from the promo looks cute. I’m loving it already. Main character loves this girl, and the other dudes tries to help him. I could visualize that already. Maybe the other dudes get their own girlfriend as well. Anyway, hoping it’s gonna be a good shoujo. 9/10

Dimension W

Dimension W – This anime looks pretty impressive too. I’m picking this up because of the cyberpunk theme, as well as how badass the main character looks in the promo video. Not to mention the director is the one who directed Usagi Drop, one of my favorite anime. I’ll give this a try, looks really action packed, but as for the character design, I didn’t like it so much. The setting and plot seems interesting at least. 8/10

luck n logic

Luck & Logic – This anime has a lot of good seiyuu in it. Or should I say popular seiyuu, like Risa Taneda who voice Rize from Gochiusa, or Nao Touyama and many others. I kinda recognized most of the voices, so I did some checking, and oh my god, so many of my favorite seiyuu is in it. The anime itself looks alright, with a mix of various popular things in it. One of the girl actually looks like Black Rock Shooter, for example. It’s action and fantasy, so if you’re into those kinds of show, I guess it’s worth a try. I’m not sure if I’m watching this one, but I just might. It’s also not based on any light novel or manga, original anime. 7/10

Bubuki Buranki

Bubuki Buranki – Another action and fantasy genre anime. The animation looks really good, and the characters are all CGI, but very nicely done. I know there is going to be haters when it comes to CGI, but this one does look good compared to the rest. Besides the characters, the others doesn’t look CGI, so that’s at least good. Looks heavy on the action side. Watching the promo video, it kinda reminds me of God Eater a bit. Not expecting much of it, but I think it will be at least decent at best. The animation does look interesting at least, but besides that, I’m not sure. It’s an original anime too. 6/10

Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu

Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu – I have high hopes for this anime. The animation looks very well done by Studio Deen, and we don’t see Josei anime that much this days. It’s created for women and adults. Looks very dramatic at times, and very serious. Just what I need. The jazzy 70’s soundtrack sounds awesome, plus voice actors like Ishida Akira and Megumi Hayashibara is in it too. The historical setting should be interesting as well. I kinda notice that there is a headphone in the show, but most of it looks very classy. Looking forward to this one. 8/10 | Our First Impressions

Gate

Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri 2nd Season – The first season was pretty good. It wasn’t amazing, but good at least. It’s about our current world having a mysterious connection to some other world. While we have some technology and military power, the other world has dragons, uses swords and what not, still in their medieval era. It’s has a good setting for a fantasy anime. The main character is kinda like a normal person, but he is pretty overpowered when it comes to military combat. He is also an otaku, lol! Give it a watch if you’re into fantasy and what not. Definitely worth a try. 7/10

Reikenzan Hoshikuzu-tachi no Utage

Reikenzan: Hoshikuzu-tachi no Utage – Not quite sure how good this is going to be. The promo video doesn’t tell much either, just that the above key visual kinda shows us how the anime will look like. Studio Deen is animating this, and I heard the studio mentioned that this anime is going to be full of gags, not bad I guess. Besides comedy, it’s also themed on magic and fantasy. The opening song is quite good though, Soraru and Mafumafu is singing the opening. The summary about the anime seems pretty normal as well. Besides that not sure what else there is to talk about. Not gonna rate this one, I guess. Too little to evaluate.

Sekkou Boys

Sekkou Boys – You thought the statue was going to be just a metaphor? Well you’re wrong at that. This anime is actually about those statues lol! Oh Japan, I expect no less. It’s a comedy show, so I guess if you want some laugh, you could try this one. I’m skipping this one. If it ever goes viral, and that this anime is a damn good show, I’d definitely give it a try. 5/10

Oshiete! Galko-chan

Oshiete! Galko-chan – Looks like a good slice of life comedy for girls. Watching this sorta reminds me of Super Gals for some reason, also it reminds me of something dirty as well..if you know what I mean. Looks decent enough for a slice of life show. Not so sure if I wanna watch this, but I might actually try a few episodes. Basically the story is going to be in school, and I heard the manga is kinda short. So I’m guessing this might be another anime shorts around 8 or 10 minutes or so. I think this show is good for girls, but I’m not so sure if it’s any good for guys. 6/10

Divine Gate

Divine Gate – Another anime about Gate, lol! Well this one is a different story, where those who enters the gate could change the world. I’m not so sure how that is going to work, but we’ll have to see that for ourselves. The animation looks good, but they only revealed like tidbits of it. Character design looks nice, at least for guys. The girls looks less interesting and less badass. I’m skipping this one, doesn’t look that good in my opinion. Let me know if it ever gets good though. 6/10

Dagashi Kashi

Dagashi Kashi – The character design looks really nice except for the eyes, but I’m interested to give this anime a try, particular because it’s slice of life with a mix of comedy. I know I’m not the only one interested to try this out. Looks fun to watch. While the guy always looks kinda bland, his father at least is interesting, as well as the purple haired girl. The plot revolves around the candy shop, where the main character was suppose to inherit it from his dad, but he is interested in being a manga author instead. That’s when the girl comes in, she has to convince him to take over his family business, because she wants his dad to run her company. The plot seems ok, I’m just interested to watch because it’s slice of life. If you’re interested in some slife of life comedy, I guess it’s worth a try. 8/10 | Our First Impressions

pso2

Phantasy Star Online 2 The Animation – If you liked the game, I guess it’s worth a try. The animation looks fine, and it looks like it’s sci-fi with a mix of school. I guess the main character is just a normal student, and all the action happens when he plays PSO with his friends. Personally I think is just going to be a decent show, lets just hope it doesn’t suck at least. If you’re a big PSO fan, definitely a must watch. I played the game, and I liked it, but I’m just not interested when a game turns into an anime. So I’m gonna pass on this one. 6/10

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (TV) 2nd Season

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu 2nd Season – I haven’t watched this one, but I heard lots of good things from my fellow otaku. A show about students trying to kill their octopus teacher. Sounds good to me, I should marathon this show, and watch the 2nd season soon. 8/10

Ojisan to Marshmallow

Ojisan to Marshmallow – Another anime shorts. It’s just 5 minutes long or so. The series is about a man named Kusaka who has a fascination for marshmallows. Kusaka gets involved in a relationship with an office lady named Wakabayashi, and the story focuses on their relationship in the workplace. Sounds ok for a 5 minute anime short. Will try and watch this. 6/10

Boku-dake-ga-Inai-Machi

Boku Dake ga Inai Machi – I think this anime is very interesting, probably one of my most anticipated anime this season, I must say. I heard good things about the manga, like lots of good things. That is what makes me so hyped about it right now. Just watching the PV gives me a good vibe that this anime could turn into something amazing. Just watch the PV and tell me if it has potential or not. Animation wise, it looks really good because of course, A-1 Pictures, they are really good at that no doubt. Here is the synopsis of the series. “Struggling manga author Satoru Fujinuma is beset by his fear to express himself. However, he has a supernatural ability of being forced to prevent deaths and catastrophes by being sent back in time before the incident occurred, repeating time until the accident is prevented. One day, he gets involved in an accident that has him framed as a murderer. Desperate to save the victim, he sends himself back in time only to find himself as a grade-schooler one month before fellow classmate Kayo Hinazuki went missing. Satoru now embarks on a new quest: to save Kayo and solve the mystery behind her disappearance.” A must watch, or at least you should try a few episodes if you’re not that interested. 9/10 | Our First Impressions

JOI-shoujo-tachi-wa-kouya-wo-mezasu-diumumkan-1

Shoujo-tachi wa Kouya wo Mezasu – This anime plot sounds exactly the same like Saekano. It’s about a group of students wanting to develop the best Galge game. You know the gist. While I’m not so sure if it’s going to be as good as Saekano, I’d definitely give this a try. The main girl looks interesting, as well as the cute short girl. Not gonna expect much, just hoping that it delivers. 7/10

Kidou Kyoushuushitsu Dai Hakkei

Active Raid: Kidou Kyoushuushitsu Dai Hakkei – This one looks interesting. Police and Mecha. This is definitely worth a try if you’re a mecha fan. Looks like there is a bunch of good cast in this anime too. Animation looks good, as for the mecha CGI, I’ll leave you to decide at that one. I’ll definitely give this a try if there is a bunch of good first impression. Since I’m planning to watch a bunch of anime this season, it might just leave this for later. 7/10

CRQeKA-UkAUX088

Norn9: Norn+Nonet – This one looks good as well. I think it’s base on a visual novel? Yes I think so, Otome game. The soundtrack sounds awesome, and the PV was really good too. I have a bunch of Shoujo already this season, but I just might add this one onto the watching list as well. The show is targeted for girls though, so guys can try to watch it, but some might not enjoy it I guess. The setting is sorta cool. They live in the sky on a ship and what not. If you’re a girl and want some romance, I guess give this a shot. 7/10

HaruChika Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru

HaruChika: Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru – While the poster looks just like any other anime, the summary of the show at least seems interesting. It’s a mix of slice of life, school, mystery and romance. I’m more interested in the mystery part of the show, but if it doesn’t have much, I’m pretty sure I could enjoy what they have to offer when it comes to slice of life. It’s a normal life for most of the high schooler, when a certain accident happens. They work together to solve the mystery. The animation looks good as expect from P.A Works, so you don’t have to worry about that. Just hoping that the mystery is going to be an interesting one. Not much anime related to mystery, so I’m picking this up. 7/10 | Our First Impressions

Prince of Stride Alternative

Prince of Stride: Alternative – This is like the only anime that is about sports. So if you’re into sports anime, definitely give this a go. This anime is already out when I’m writing this. Base on first impression it’s actually good so far. I heard there was a race, where they ran around the school and what not, and people are saying that part was pretty good. While I like sports anime, I usually only pick those that is related to basketball or baseball, so I’m skipping this one. The preview doesn’t look bad, and the animation is of course going to be awesome, since it’s done by Madhouse. 7/10

Musaigen no Phantom World

Musaigen no Phantom World – A KyoAni anime. So i’m definitely going to give this a try. No doubt the animation is going be good, but what worries me is the plot, whether it’s good or not, will certainly be my main concern regarding this anime. It looks action-packed at least with all this supernatural thing happening in the anime, and expect a lot of fanservice too. The character design and the character itself looks good. I have a feeling that the guy is going to be pretty pathetic though, but KyoAni will find a way to entertain us, lol! As always, I’m sure many is going to watch this, since it’s KyoAni. 7/10 | Our First Impressions

Ajin

Ajin – I’m really not sure about this one because of the CGI. I heard good things about the manga, but looking at the story it seems really cool. But the CGI kinda turns me off a bit. I’ll give a try and if I survive, i’ll definitely continue to watch it. Pretty sure I’m not the only one having problem with the CGI in this anime, base on the PV. Kinda wish everything was 2d too, but of course that’s not going to happen 🙁 6/10
