Inu X Boku Secret Service Manga Creator Cocoa Fujiwara Passes Away

The editors of Square Enix’s Gangan Joker magazine announced on Wednesday that manga creator Cocoa Fujiwara passed away on March 31. She was 31. A service was held for her family and close relatives.
Fujiwara made her debut with the short story “Calling” in 1999. She later serialized the manga Inu × Boku SS in Gangan Joker from 2009 to 2014. Yen Press publishes the romantic comedy in North America, and the manga inspired the 2012 Inu X Boku Secret Service television anime which Sentai Filmworks released in North America.

Fujiwara began her Katsute Mahō Shōjo to Aku wa Tekitai Shiteita manga in Gangan Joker in 2013, and the chapter that the magazine published in the April issue on March 20 is the final one. The magazine and its website will report on the compilation of the final chapters, which have yet to be published in book form, and other details as soon as a decision is made. Fujiwara’s other manga included Watashi no Ookami-san and dear. –ANN
