I’m late again, this episode review will be up around the same time episode 4 drops, kind of a fail on my part. This review is going to be short because I have to get started on next week’s review! I’m almost relieved that the fight scene is over. It has been one constant pile of action since the beginning and I am excited to see what comes next. The first thing I want to talk about is magic in Zetsuen no Tempest. This isn’t some little kids fantasy where anything is possible. The Kusaribe clan can only be used as “defensive magic.” Their magic cannot summon demons or kill someone with a simple phrase. Technically there are ways to get around this defensive magic, which we do see in this episode. The spear guy uses defensive magic to destroy things and Yoshino uses healing magic to find Mahiro. I really like that there are limits on power hopefully leading to no inconsistences in the anime.
Aika’s killer was from the Kusaribe clan. That was pretty obvious. I am happy that so far there have been no attempts to bring her back to life and I hope no one will attempt it. If we have learned anything from anime, bringing back the dead never works and is never a good idea. I am impressed that Mihiro never brought this subject up. He is a smart kids and he already new in his heart that the dead should stay dead.
Next episode looks like flashbacks. It should be interesting, we will get to delve deeper into Yoshino and Mihiro relationship.
Thanks for reading!
