Code: Breaker PV & Character Designs

Alright, so I know that the Summer Anime season hasn’t started yet but I feel as if now is as good of a time as ever to post about one of my most highly anticipated anime of the fall season.

Riding the bus one day, Sakurakouji Sakura looks out the window to see people being burned alive with a blue fire and a boy her age who’s unharmed and standing over the people. She comes back to the site the next day and there are no corpses or evidence of any kind of murder, just a small fire. She then goes to class to find there’s a new transfer student, Oogami Rei, who looks exactly like the boy she saw before and wears a black glove only on his left hand. Oogami is a Code Breaker, one who “does not exist”. He is a seemingly cold-blooded killer who follows the principle of “an eye for an eye”, to “use evil against evil”. Convinced that killing is not right, Sakurakouji sets out to stop him and penetrate his icy heart. (MyAnimeList)

I don’t read Manga very often, more like never, but I read some of Code Breaker and I liked it.  You can expect a cool, cold lead in Oogami and a kind of bitchy female lead of Sakurakouji.  Unfortunately she kind of reminded me of Sakura from Naruto, and it makes sense because her first name is also Sakura.  The studio behind this anime is Kinema Citrus.  Pretty sweet name.  It looks like Code Breaker is the first anime that they are doing that is independent of other studios.  The studio is known for Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, (which they worked on with the help of Bones) and the .hack//Quantum OVA.  I can’t read/understand Japanese but according to the preview, people from Full Metal are working on this anime which is an added bonus.  I hope this anime will be good, we still have to wait until October to see it  Also I don’t know if I can do this but I call dibs on reviewing this anime for the fall season :p
