Black★Rock Shooter Episode 4 Thoughts

Ok I really need to express my feelings about BRS this week. Lets start with the bad stuff first before the good ones. Black★Rock Shooter isn’t the same anymore. Since when did Black Rock Shooter become a story about psychotic, clingy lesbian school girls? At this point, the original essence really is just completely lost. All this melodrama has become absolutely ridiculous. The “other” world is also just convoluted and the CGI is getting bad in my opinion. Man, remember when Black Rock Shooter was just a Vocaloid song with a cool video?

Well enough with the hate. Now for the love! The new BRS anime is actually kind of interesting. I think the emotions that each girl feels with the relationships are pretty genuine, if a bit too over-dramatic. Four episodes in and I find myself sympathizing with Yomi a lot. Mato needs to pay a little more attention to how her flim-flammy attitude affects people, though I’m not really blaming her for not realizing how Yomi’s feeling is. Other than that, Yes! Strength finally made an appearance! I’m not talking about her usual 5 second moments she had in the past; I’m talking about a good 25 or so seconds! Finally! Maybe this means Strength will actually be featured in this episode? Oh, man, I really hope so!

The new Kagari is so cute, but common, she is such a jerk. Just when I thought I was going to like her. She became popular thanks to Yomi, if not because of Yomi she couldn’t even go to school right now. I can’t believe Kagari’s new friend is such a jerk as well. Kohata looks all good, but in the end she couldn’t remember that guy who she confessed to? Damn you Saya, stop putting poison inside everyone’s coffee.  Yuu/Strength is starting to make her move, I’m so excited, I hope Strength will get more screen time on BRS. Oh and I forgot to mention how cute Mato’s little brother is, he is so adorable. What I wish could happen next week is that the show could be less melodramatic. I didn’t really signed up for this. When I first start watching it I thought it was going to be as cool as the one from the OVA. Lets just hope it improves.
